“DE KEMPEN” – A FESTIVAL OF SCENTS AND COLOURS
The area surrounding Domain Rodin has much to offer: cycling, hiking, horse riding, etc.
In the middle of De Kempen region between Oud-Turnhout and Arendonk you will find the “Landschap De Liereman“, one of the oldest protected natural areas of Belgium. Fragrant bog-myrtle bushes, sweet broom, fresh verdant forests and a vast heath landscape provide a riot of scents and colours.
The “Landschap De Liereman” is a must for any nature lover!
The forests, heaths, grasslands, dunes and peat bogs make the “Landschap De Liereman” unique in Europe. For centuries, this area has been home to the curlew, the night swallow, the marsh gentian and the natterjack toad, among other unique flora and fauna. During your walk you might just stumble upon sheep and wild Konik horses. Go hiking among bone-dry sand dunes and boggy peat marshes. In the visitor center at the edge of the area, you can relax on the terrace or visit the exhibition on the rich history of this unique landscape.
Domain Rodin and its surroundings guarantee an unforgettable stay.
Oud-Turnhout and Turnhout, which are nearby, have something for everyone. There you can find a harbour, castle, bustling market square with restaurants and terraces, the Begijnhofmuseum, the National Playing Card Museum and so much more!
Just a few kilometers away is the charming Corsendonks Hof, a brasserie with a lovely terrace, which is definitely worth a visit.
